Born and raised in Northeast LA, they have a 19-year background in classical violin training and a lifelong passion for making and being surrounded with music of all kinds. Tori obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Bennington College in 2022 with concentrations in music, sound practices and sociology. While there, they were one of five recipients of the John Hendricks Memorial Award for outstanding compositions. Their softly experimental, harmonically complex left-of-center music informs a sound art practice that invokes tactile nostalgia and elements of collage- carrying emotion and presence in the smallest of sounds. Through sound and music they explore themes of self-reflection, the fluidity of identity, cultural estrangement, and what it means to grow.

Prioritizing both solo and collaborative work, Tori is a singer-songwriter and a freelance multimedia composer and sound designer, with a track record including work published by The Guardian and Indeed. They also work in music licensing, previously for A24 and currently for Ego Plum, composer and music editor for Nickelodeon’s Kamp Koral, The Patrick Star Show, and Jellystone.
